Nevign Angelique

Nevign Angelique Miranda Besas

Happy 7th birthday, Ate Ding!
We want you to know that even though we're not physically communicating,
you (and Eioi) are always in our thoughts and prayers.
You (and Eioi) will always be one of our angels and inspirations in life.
Know always that you (and Eioi) has a special place in our hearts
and no one else could replace nor erase the wonderful memories we had with you (and Eioi).
We care for the both of you so much that we want you two to have the utmost welfare
you both deserve to ensure your well-being.
But there are circumstances beyond our control
which leave us no choice than to let go and put our full trust in God.
We miss you (and Eioi) so much...
We hope and pray that you'll always be in good health
And may you (and Eioi) grow into a fine God-loving individuals.
Enjoy your 7th birthday celebration, Ate Ding.
We look forward to the day that we get to see and hug you again.
We love you so much! xoxoxoxo

This too shall pass...

"In our lives there is bound to come some pain,
surely as there are storms and falling rain;
just believe that the one who holds the storms
will bring the sun." ~ unknown

Just when I thought that everything's calm and on its right perspective, then the storm came without warning. It's the kind of storm that opens wounds and emotions in the past. But I know this too shall pass... I hope this time, I'm proven wrong.

Today...

... before you say an unkind word
- think of someone who can't speak.

... before you complain about the taste of your food
- think of someone who has nothing to eat.

... before you complain about your husband or wife
-think of someone who's crying out to God for companion.

... before you complain about life
- think of someone who died too early on this earth.

... before you complain about your children
- think of someone who desires children but they're barren.

... before you argue about your dirty house someone didn't clean or sweep
- think of the people who are living in the streets.

... before whining about the distance you drive
- think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet.

... and when you are tired and complain about your job
- think of the unemployed, the disabled, and those who wish they had your job.

... but before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another
- remember that not one of us is without sin.

... and when depressing thoughts seem to get you down
- put a smile on your face and think: you're alive and still around.

I'd just like to share one of the contents of the emails I received today which I believe that it serves as great reminders to us whenever we feel like complaining. Sometimes we get lost in the madness of our daily lives that we tend to focus more on the negative side. I realized that in doing so, we make matters worst and it left us feeling more frustrated and stressed which could lead to more unproductive thoughts or hurting someone's feelings. For me, life's too short to waste our time ranting about the things beyond our control. Thus, today and onwards I'll try to be more considerate, optimistic and fair by taking the time to look at each side of the coin before whining.

Happy Easter!

The seasons of Lent and Easter has a special meaning for me not only because of its religious aspects but also because it was during at these times that most major happenings/changes in my life happened/started. Like in April 2003, it was Easter Wednesday when I married my almost 9 yrs boyfriend, Thomas. And on April the following year, I gave birth to our daughter, Cybelle Louise, on a Good Friday. Then there was last year when we (Cybelle and I) left Cebu for Perth, WA, it was Black Saturday... and started living a new life (the three of us) together in a foreign land on Easter Sunday 2008.

And for this year, it's the first time that I got to spend the whole seasons of Lent and Easter here down under. It's quite different from what I'm used to in my home country, Philippines, as I've expected but still the meaning/purpose/reason of the seasons/celebrations is the same. Repentance, renewal and making new good beginnings are just some important messages/reminders for us to make our lives worthwhile.

I am most grateful to the One above for giving me another Easter in my life to start anew (like having this new blog site). And as what the priest said during his final Easter mass message yesterday and I quote, "God works in times of crisis." And it's so true. We just have to trust Him because He really works in mysterious ways and His love for us is very wonderful.

Happy Easter! =)
